Can a bottle of wine help you get the girl? Winemaker Chip Forsythe, his brother AJ and his friend Brandon Allen think so, arguing that it worked for Thomas Jefferson--or at least it did in their offbeat version of history. Chip got his degree in winemaking and viticulture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, locally referred to as SLO (hence the winery name), making wine under a bridge next to the winery he was working for and selling it to the kids in the dorms for extra cash. Sexual Chocolate is made from 70-year-old Howell Mountain Zin from Chip's college roommate's dad's organically farmed ranch in Napa, and young, warm climate Santa Barbara Syrah that Chip planted while he was in school. It tastes like chocolate covered cherries, with super supple tannins and a plush texture. This isn't a wine to sit and ponder, but a fun bottle for drinking tonight.
