Bright gold. Smoky, mineral-dominated scents of peach and jasmine, plus a subtle note of anise. Deeply concentrated and fleshy but also spicy and vibrant, with potent peach, candied ginger, tarragon and chalk flavors and a refreshingly bitter quality. Shows very good power on the clinging finish. (9/ 2012)
Produced from 15-30 year old, massale selection Godello vines (propagated from some of the finest, oldest Godello vines in the area) grown in black slate, this is seriously delicious white wine from one of the premier D.O.'s for white wine in all of Spain. Given it's bright, pure fruit and vivid minerality, this reminds me of very good Muscadet. (Joe Manekin, K&L Spanish wine buyer)
