I have always said that the Rieslings from the Gaisberg are among some of my absolute favorites. They run interwoven lines of sneaky power and elegant finesse. Pretty but restrained fruit aromatics with backing minerality are the first to hit you. Then comes the persistence on the palate that drives the wine home with a juicy and lengthy finish. A fantastically food friendly wine that will match up with just about anything. I'm thinking a simple pork roast rubbed with thyme. (Eric Story, K&L Austria wine buyer)
