The 2010 growing season has realized an elegant and detailed Merlot in this bottling from Textbook. An addition of just 2% Cabernet Sauvignon leaves the wine firmly in varietally correct Merlot territory, with this joining of 70% fruit from Rutherford and 30% from Carneros. Grapes were hand selected in both the vineyard and again at the winery before being pressed. The wine was then slowly fermented and aged in 35% new French oak.
