Jefferson's Ocean Aged at Sea Very Small Batch Bourbon 750ml

SKU #1111227 Whisky Advocate

This Jefferson’s bourbon spent most of its life (almost four years) on a boat in the ocean. All that rocking and environmental conditioning has this whisky tasting four to five times its age. Yes, there’s plenty of resinous oak and leather, but there are also balancing notes of molasses, treacle, toffee, old demerara rum, and roasted nuts. A peppering of cinnamon, mint, tobacco, and maybe…yes, brine add intrigue.

K&L Notes

This is easily the year's most hyped Bourbon. We have thousands of customers each week calling to find out when the legendary Ocean Aged Bourbon would be available. When we got the call about our allocation our jaws dropped. One bottle? REALLY?!? Well, this isn't usually the route we take, but we've decided that the only way to give everyone an equal opportunity to own this incredibly rare product would be to put it on the block. This single bottle of bourbon represents our entire allocation of this most sought-after whiskey. Aged four years on a 126-foot research vessel operated by OCEARCH, it's an understatement to say that quantities of the Ocean Aged at Sea are extremely limited. Only 250 bottles were produced. Jefferson will donate the proceeds to OCEARCH.

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.
