Nose still suffering from post-fermentation stress, but the palate successfully combines lively acidity and a smidgeon of residual sugar to deliver a fair entry-level trocken. (6/ 2012)
A savory style, with notes of richness to the ripe berry and white fruit flavors. Crisp and well-spiced on the minerally finish. Drink now through 2016. (4/ 2013)
A wonderfully dry, but not mouth-searing style of Riesling for those who love the delicate attributes of the noble Riesling varietal but aren't keen on any residual sugar. The 2011 is a touch friendlier and more crowd pleasing than the stern 2010. Fantastically versatile, this offers up taught flavors of salty lemon, a touch of smoky minerality, lean stone fruit and a nice persistence through the finish. Makes for a nice aperitif or to wash down grilled sausages and even matches deliciously with smoked fish.
