Aromas of boysenberry syrup with hint of licorice follow through to a full body, with a dense palate and slightly chewy tannins. Juicy wine, with a slightly rustic edge. But I like it. (Web Only- 2010)

Some spice here, from the rich Merlot. The wine has ripe blackberry, sweet fruits as well as concentrated tannins.

Dark glowing cherry red. Rich, plump and a little oaky at this stage. But quite delicate fruit on the palate. Very polished with some attractive minerality. Refreshing.

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
A big, chunky, somewhat corpulent wine with delicious black currant and black cherry fruit intermixed with some damp earth, truffle and forest floor, this 2009 is round, medium to full-bodied, dark plum/purple, and best drunk over the next 10-12 years.

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Inky purple. Pure aromas of red cherry, blackberry jelly and coffee. A supple, sweet and tasty midweight, with expressive flavors of redcurrant, cocoa and smoky oak. There are still some youthfully aggressive tannins on the moderately long finish, but the wine's acidity is nicely integrated, giving it a savory quality and considerable early appeal.

K&L Notes
Tasted on August 21, 2012. Blackberry fruit and toasty oak dominate this lovely wine--so sweet and sexy. A very well-balanced wine that shows great now but will age effortlessly for 15 years. SO GOOD. (Clyde Beffa, K&L Bordeaux buyer)
