Blanc de blancs from Bouzy? Yes- and what a blanc de blanc it is! This single varietal, single vineyard, single harvest Champagne comes entirely from the Les Motellettes parcel which was planted in 1961. This bottle is all 2007, although not labeled as a vintage you can find the information on the back label. Quentin Paillard, his brother and his father all wanted to make terroir Champagne from their best, oldest plots- the very plots that they use to propagate the massal selections for the rest of their vineyard. This Chardonnay has understated power and is perhaps the most subtle, complex young Champagne that I have ever had. We only managed to get 8 cases of this great Champagne, so don't hesitate if you would like some! (Gary Westby, K&L Champage Buyer)
