This wine is made from mid-slope Chardonnay vineyard parcels in the grand crus of Cramant, Oger and Mesnil. Like all of Launois vineyards, these are massal selected, with no clones used. Since Bernard Launois harvests 10 days after everyone else in the area, his vintage wines are very rich and round for blanc de blancs. The 2005 is riper than his usual style and fans of toast and richness will be very, very impressed with this bottling. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne Buyer)
