The "cru" of the Soave Classica region, Seroele spans a hilly area near Monteforte D'Alpone, where the volcanic soils are particularly suited to the cultivation of the Garganega grape. Here this fleshy white develops the right balance of structure and richness to yield one of Italy's great food-friendly white wines. Bertani's Soave is 100% Garganega, produced from from vines cultivated using the traditional "veronese pergola" method. It was harvested by hand, gently pressed, and aged on the lees in large oak vats for six months, followed by three month in bottle prior to release. Bertani harvests late to allow for additional richness and intensity in the wine, and the wine gets its creamy body and complex flavors from the extended ageing in wood. Aromas of apricot, pear, and citrus blossom greet the nose, which join with flavors of tropical fruits and melon on the palate. This is medium-bodied with smooth, creamy mouthfeel and citrusy finish. Enjoy with salads, soups, white fish, or white meats.
