2009 Cellers Can Blau "Blau" Montsant

SKU #1107178 91 points Wine Spectator

*Top 100 Wines of 2012* Dense yet lively, this expressive red shows morello cherry, floral, licorice and mineral flavors supported by light, firm tannins and fresh acidity. Mountain herb and smoke notes keep this from turning candied, but the sweet fruit lingers nicely. Drink now through 2016. (4/ 2012)

89 points Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar

Deep ruby. High-pitched aromas of raspberry and cherry, with suave floral and spice accents and a hint of cola. Spicy and focused on the palate, with good lift and cut to its tangy red and dark berry flavors. Finishes with notes of bitter chocolate, pepper and cherry pit. (9/ 2011)

This is always a crowd pleaser. Small price for a great blend. Carinena, Syrah and Garnacha leads to a great big mouth feel. It's the nose that brings you to the old world. Rich wood smoke just begging for you to fire up the grill!! Rich spice and long lasting finish.

This is a stunning bargain! Think baby Priorat for a fraction of the price. Lots of dark fruit and mineral notes as well as a spicy mid-palate. Really focused flavors that don't fall short and finishes long a strong. Perfect timing, this is a great barbecue red for the summer.
