Medium-dark red. Roasted plum, leather and nuts on the nose, plus a slight vegetal nuance. Soft, lush and somewhat gamey in the mouth. Finishes with a hint of green acidity but nicely ripe tannins. Not short. (5/ 2000)
This wine is PERFECT right now: mature and delicious Bordeaux at a great price. We sold the last 100 cases immediately and now we've been able to locate a tiny bit more. Just try a bottle and you will quickly see what the fuss is about. Clyde scores it 92 points. Anthony Barton ends up the hero once again, both for his super wines as well as his insistence on reasonable pricing and the impact he's had on the topic of value. According to the Wine Spectator: "...there's good berry and currant character. Medium-bodied, with silky tannins and a light, slightly dry finish. Best after 2000. " (01/00)
