Made from 100% Chardonnay, this bubbly shows Schramsberg's ease of producing rich, clean and elegant sparkling wines. It's delicious now in vanilla, yeast, lime and Asian pear flavors, with some sweetness from the dosage, but try giving it 5-6 years in the cellar. (12/ 2012)

San Francisco Chronicle Top 100 Wines of 2012: "The Davies family has long had a particular fondness for its Blanc de Blancs, ever since Nixon brought it to China in 1972. This latest, from Napa, Sonoma and Marin grapes, is marked by both opulence and great brightness. Brioche, bay leaf, river stones, and lemon oil - the quintessence of a Chardonnay-based sparkling wine." This cuvee of 100% Chardonnay was sourced from 69% Napa, 27% Sonoma, and 4% Marin counties. The style is dry and vibrant, with small lots of barrel-fermented base wines added for complexity. The wine is bottle-fermented for over two years before being disgorged, and is capable of aging for further years in the cellar. A profile of green apple and tropical fruits are rounded out by flavors of brioche and stonefruit. Creamy minerality and mouthwatering acid drive the finish.
