Started by brothers Andre and Louis Mittnacht in the late-1950s or early 1960s (conflicting reports), Domaine Mittnacht Freres is biodynamic Alsatian estate now run by cousins Christophe and Marc Mittnacht. Their entry-level Riesling is mineral-driven, with lime, apple and stone fruit aromas and flavors and just a kiss of honey on the finish. The "Les Fossiles" designation refers to the fossils that winemaker Christophe Mittnacht encounters in his Riesling parcels which are planted in ancient limestone.
