This 100% stainless steel fermented Chenin Blanc from Clarksburg soils (Sacramento Delta) is crisp and refreshing, with a nice balance of fruit and acidity. From the cool 2011 vintage, this opens with zesty tropical citrus and apple aromas and flavors with hints of white peach. The palate is full and round, with chalky mineral tones adding complexity and nerve. It is racier than previous vintages, and finished dry, with a light kiss of honey. Moderate in alcohol, this food-friendly Chenin can be enjoyed as an aperitif, alongside light dishes and salads (try it with a fresh peach and goat cheese salad) as well as a variety of spicy ethnic fare.
