Eventide is the second label for the Mischa estate, and their 2005 Shiraz Eventide offers generous aromas and flavors of cassis, prune, and beef jerky. Quite densely-concentrated for a wine of its price, its sheer ripeness runs no danger of becoming simply sweet, as there is plenty of verve and saline brightness as well as a fine-grained frame of tannin. (8/ 2008)
A lovely nose of violets and soft berries leads on this stylish Shiraz. On the palate, luscious berry, pepper and minerals mingle together with elegance. The finish is long and clean. (9/ 2008)
A ripe, forward style, with mint, mocha and nearly jammy raspberry and blackberry fruit notes. Has a round, fleshy finish. (11/ 2007)
Winemakers Notes: "The color shows deep, rich gamet with youthful purple hues. On the nose bold spicy aromatisc overflowing with rich ripe fruits, blackberry and plum undertones of black olive, cedar and cinnamon. The palate has well structured tannins overlayed with juicy fruit, well balanced acidity and luxurious fruited finish. A concentrated well balanced wine which will develop well over the next five to eight years."
