Very interesting stuff from the Uco Valley, this Tempranillo has wild, intriguing, somewhat meaty aromas which give way to a big palate full of black cherries, violets, and just a hint of the barnyard. I'm not sure that I'd guess this was Tempranillo, and I'm pretty sure that I would not guess it's from Argentina, so throw any preconceived notions of typicity out the window and simply enjoy this wine for what it is, a unique, soulful expression of Tempranillo from the high elevation vineyards of Argentina's Uco Valley.
