100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the clay soils of Italy's Veneto region. The fruit was hand-picked, followed by a ten-day crushing process in order to acheive the perfect extraction of color, aroma, and tannin. The wine was aged in a combination of stainless steel and French oak (equal parts) for eight to ten months and blended prior to bottling. The 2010 displays a nice balance of dark Cabernet fruit aromas and flavors - blackberry, cassis, blueberry - with creaminess and spice from French oak. It is full-bodied and dry, with a velvety mouthfeel and hints of earth and smoky vanilla spice on the finish. A fine alternative to California Cabernet made in an international style that pairs with roasted or grilled meats and aged cheeses.
