This whisky is appropraitely named for the most powerful of the norse gods. It is the first in an annual series of bottlings dedicated to the gods of the Norse Mythology, The Valhalla Collection. Orkney, where Highland Park is distilled, was part of the Norweigan Kingdom for more than 500 years. Thor was the Norse god of Thunder, Storms, Strength & Oak Trees (wikipedia?). The perfect metaphor for this bottlings power, ocean influence, and cask strength intensity. Bottled in a strickng carved wooden case, reminscent of the Viking Long Ships, this years Valhalla release will certainly not be available long. This small production bottling is highly allocated.
