Bright, green-tinged gold. Meyer lemon, pear, honeysuckle and anise on the fragrant nose. Juicy and smooth in texture, with very good energy to its ripe pit and orchard fruit flavors. Sappy and refreshingly bitter on the long, clinging finish, which repeats the lemon and anise notes. I like this wine's power and cut. (10/ 2011)
Tasting Highlights. Fresh and vibrant, with snappy pear and apple flavors joined by touches of chalk and hazelnut. Most impressive for its persistent delivery of ripe, zesty fruit. Drink now through 2019. Cases made 1,000. (4/ 2012)
Twenty-five percent new oak shows in the aromas of buttered toast, butterscotch and caramel that superimpose over ripe notes of pineapple jam. Purists might object to all that oak, but others will go gaga. (10/ 2011)
