From the Dierberg family's estate-grown fruit, this is a rich Chardonnay with white peach and green pear flavors. It's finely tuned to its wood-15% of the barrels are new-and the flavors are integrated into the plump fruit. The finish is clean, sappy and a little salty, delicious with whole-roasted branzino. Last year we sold the '08 Three Saints and it took off like a rocket. Now the '09 is here to compete for the title of best California Chardonnay under $15. David Ramey and Paul Hobbs consult here along with winemaker Nicholas de Luca.
