The 2009 Petite Fleur is a blend of 50% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon with the balance Syrah and Merlot in which 50% of the wine was aged in new French oak. Notions of sandalwood, Asian spices, tobacco, violets, and assorted black fruits inform the nose of a savory, ripe, succulent wine with enough underlying structure to evolve for 2-3 years. It will deliver prime drinking from 2013 to 2021. (12/ 2011)
(mostly malbec, with some merlot, syrah and cabernet sauvignon) Bright medium ruby. Sexy, slightly jammy aromas of blackberry, licorice, herbs, minerals and dark chocolate. Suave and seamless but with harmonious acidity giving definition and lift to the blackberry, violet and bitter chocolate flavors. Serious, complex wine, finishing with ripe, building tannins (2/ 2011)
