Delicate aromas of fresh strawberries, green mango and toasted almonds. The palate is very dry featuring tart, racy acidity, citrusy flavours and a touch of toastiness in the medium to long finish. Drink now. Tasted October 2008. (11/ 2008)
This is a very rich, round Champagne with nice toast and weight. Fans of the English style of Champagne will really enjoy the extra maturity of this non-vintage. Champagne Devaux was founded in 1846 and has been owned by the growers who supply it since 1986. It is composed of half and half Pinot Noir and Chardonnay and aged for five years on the lees. The reserve wine, which makes up half of the blend is fermented and aged in large oak barrels. (Gary Westby, K&L Champagne buyer)
