Bright purple. Jammy black and blue fruits on the nose and in the mouth. Open-knit and juicy, with good clarity and lift. Not the last word in complexity but extremely easy to like. Finishes with good clarity and subtle spiciness (10/ 2011)
Vina Zorzal is a small producer focused on producing wines of authenticity that reflect the winemaking traditions of Navarra, Spain. They have made a splash with Graciano, catching the attention of Jancis Robinson and the Wall Street Journal, and now we're hooked with this Garnacha from a treasure trove of old Garnacha vines in the district of Fitero, a village near Corella. 2010 marks the first vintage of production from this special site, and we are excited for more! This is pure blackberry and plum-scented Garnacha, plump and juicy, and unencumbered by oak. Absolutely delicious with jamon crudo!
