Inspired by the desire to fill a hole in the local market for affordable, varietally correct wines meant to be enjoyed by all (not fussed over by few), winemaking friends Stephen Dooley (Stephen Ross Winery) and Sandy Garber (Garber & Co Wine) teamed up to form Jackhammer Wine Company; 2010 is their first vintage. Debuting with Pinot Noir, the 2010 Chardonnay is not far behind. Sourced from cool Central Coast sites, this refreshing Chardonnay exhibits ripe pear, apple, and tropical citrus aromas and flavors, with delicate floral highlights and mineral undertones. It is full and round, with a juicy core of fruit and mouthwatering finish. It makes a thirst-quenching aperitif and will complement a variety of foods, and at $10.99 is priced to party!
