Gostolai is a small vineyard and winery located in the foothills of Mount Corrasi in Sardinia. They produce red, white and rose wines from traditional Sardinian varietals. This is 100% Vermentino from the Galluria region of Sardegna. Vermentino is one of my favorite white wines in all of Italy. The best are incredibly aromatic, almost pungently spicy, have great depth of flavor and long finishes with excellent acidity. I had this wine at Osteria Mozza with squid ink pasta, roasted crab and jalapeno pesto topped with sea urchin, and just about fell out of my chair from the beauty of the pairing. This is not a sipping wine per se, but one that must be enjoyed with food to really fully appreciate. A must try. (Chris Miller, LA Italian Wine Specialist)
