1948 Very Old Fitzgerald (Stitzel-Weller Distillery) 8 Year Old Bonded Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 750ml

SKU #1082349

Distilled entirely in 1948 and bottled in 1956, this bourbon comes from the legendary Stitzel-Weller distillery, which closed in 1991. This is one of the most historically important American whiskies on the market today. Finding a bottle is nearly impossible and quantities are extremely limited. This is the REAL Van Winkle whiskey, produced when Julian "Pappy" Van Winkle was actually running the distillery. Pappy was involved in the everyday affairs of the distillery from the day it opened in 1935 until his death in 1965. In '72, the Van Winkle family was forced to sell the distillery and almost all their brands to various companies. This bottling is one of a kind on the open market today. Needless to say even at this price, it won't last long.

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.
