This is an incredible book on one of the world’s great spirits as well as being a window on to a way of life that is disappearing. Charles Neal goes into great detail describing the polyculture farming of the Norman Calvados producer and learning about the synergy of it all is enough to make you want to go back to the land. This is a must for the library of any student of wine and spirits!

United States

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.
