Translated from the producer's website: "Le Clos du Caillou is ideally located in the town of Courthézon. It consists of 44 hectares in the Côtes du Rhône appellation and 9 hectares in the Chateauneuf du Pape appellation. Le Clos has the distinction of being located on the edge with the appellation Châteauneuf du Pape. Formerly hunting grounds, in 1936 the owner refused a visit to the area by experts undertaking the delimitation of the appellation Châteauneuf du Pape. Thus, the Clos was not retained in the delimitation, and today, le Clos du Caillou remains an enclave in the Châteauneuf du Pape."
