Situated in Rivesaltes, in the heart of the Roussillon, Domaine Cazes has been farming their nearly 200 hectares biodynamically for the last ten years. Their soils are a mix of pebbles, clay and limestone, well-suited to the diverse varietals they have planted. The 2009 "Le Canon du Marechal" Rouge is composed of 50% Syrah and 50% Merlot. It is a dry, fruity red wine, offering a playful mix of plummy dark fruits and ripe red berries, with subtle accents of garrigue. Best of all is its lush mouthfeel and gentle tannin - this is a delicious, ready-to-drink red made to be enjoyed with food. 13% abv.
