A field blend of 15 different grape varieties, all harvested at the same time and co-fermented (unusual by any standard) is the 2009 Vin de Mr. Baron. Deep ruby/purple, with notes of flowers, cranberry, boysenberry, black currant, red currant, licorice and some earth and spice, the wine is medium-bodied, classy and refined for what is basically a Cotes du Rhone. It has a long finish and should drink nicely for 3-4 years. (10/ 2011)
Offers gorgeous dark, juicy fruit, with mixed plum, boysenberry and blackberry notes intertwined, laced with a mouthwatering jolt of licorice and alluring dashes of spice that flitter through the creamy finish. This has lovely mouthfeel and subtle persistence. Drink now through 2016. (10/ 2012)
