93 points and one of Wine & Spirits 100 Best Buys of 2011: "The Dierbergs select the top fruit from their estate vineyard for their Dierberg Chardonnay, producing Three Saints from the balance, including the press fractions (Dierberg is only free run juice). Plebian that I am, I liked them both equally, though for different reasons. Here the vineyard's coastal influence shows in a beach-grass scent, a hint of kelp under kumquat and orange flavors. The finish brings fruit and a gentle hint of oak layered with a soil-like impression - a deep, cool minerality that lasts. Decant it for roast fish." (10/11) According to Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar: "Light yellow. Slightly reduced aromas of pear skin, mango and smoke, with a hint of anise. Brighter with air, offering tangy lemon and green apple flavors and a touch of white pepper. Juicy and a touch sweet on the finish, which leaves a lush melon note behind." (Nov/Dec 10) And from Wine Spectator: "The wine captures the high-toned aromatics, built around fresh flowers, citrus blossom, tangerine and nectarine. Pure, ripe and juicy. Drink now through 2014."
