Part of the Martin Ray portfolio, this entry level Alexander Cabernet Sauvignon is made in a fruit-forward style, but it has a surprising amount of acid backbone for something at this price point. It smells a bit like Doc Browns black cherry soda mixed with vanilla, and the palate is layered with lots of cherry, blackberry and plum fruit, with cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom spice and depth. Its 10 months in French oak rounds out the tannins on the finish. Enjoy this with a meal.
