May-Britt and Denis Malbec, the winemaking team formerly of Chāteau Latour in Bordeaux, craft wines from Fleuron's organically farmed hillside Alexander Valley Tin Cross Vineyard under the Captūre Wines label with the intent of producing wines that reflect a more Old World approach. In the case of Chardonnay, this translates to a more Burgundian styled offering; the 2010 opens with a nose of lemon and lees, with tangy green apple and mineral undertones. The wine spent 11 months in 100% French oak barrels, where contact with the lees promotes the development of a rich, creamy texture on the palate, framed by fresh acidity. The finish is clean and lingering. 856 cases produced.
