Rusty Blade Gin 750ml

SKU #1075967

Is it whiskey that tastes like gin...or gin that tastes like whiskey? The new release of the single barrel Rusty Blade Gin from local Belmont, CA distiller Old World Spirits is back in stock and better than ever. Davorin was so successful with his first little K&L experiment--aging gin in cask like a whiskey--that he decided to make it a full time production item! K&L still gets the largest allocation though because we were the first store to carry it. I believe this is one of the best and most unique gins ever made. Citrus, juniper, vanilla, baking spices - it's incredibly nuanced, perfect for sipping or mixing. This will go fast because we had people begging us for more last time around. Makes a killer Negroni. 62% ABV Barrel strength release; aged in French oak. (David Driscoll, K&L Spirits Buyer)

Gin in the modern age has become like a set of golf clubs - you need a specific tool or club for each particular task. A good martini gin, a good gin for citrus drinks, and a gin that marries well with sweet vermouth are all necessities for the well-stocked bar. The Rusty Blade may be the absolute best sweet vermouth gin that we've ever seen. The maturation of the gin in the barrel adds flavors of baking spices and vanilla that really take a Negroni to the next level. This is the future of gin. I'm glad that we've been a big part of bringing it to the public.

- When people consider domestic wine, they normally think about the state of California. The fine viticultural Region within California, including the Napa Valley, Sonoma, Santa Cruz Mountains, Mendocino and Santa Barbara, are capable of growing grapes of world-class quality. But there's plenty of fabulous wine coming from other states, too. Oregon, Washington and New York are also causing eyebrows (and glassware) to be raised around the world.
