Wine Enthusiast
*Cellar Selection* This very structured wine is dry, in the Laurent-Perrier house style. Crunchy green apples are supported by richness and a complex texture. With nine years in the cellar, it has already gained some maturity, but needs aging.

Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar
Light, bright yellow. Fragrant, complex scents of Meyer lemon, pear, peach pit and toasty lees. Juicy and precise, with very good depth to its spice citrus and floral flavors. The deeper pear and peach notes come back on the finish, which lingers with serious smoky intensity. This Champagne's density and focus bode well for cellaring.

Wine & Spirits
A fragrant, zesty and powerful wine, this has the concentration of the vintage with tart peach and lemon pith flavor. Acidity balances the roundness of the dosage, creating layers of flavor and pointing up the complex spice. This has the tension to serve with sashimi.

Wine Spectator
A bright, mineral-driven Champagne that offers a creamy mousse and flavors of green pear, anise, spiced nut and candied lemon zest. A note of sweet smoke lingers on the moderate finish. Drink now through 2016.

The 2002 Brut Millesime shows good up-front richness in its dried apricots, dried pears, flowers and spices. This is a relatively supple, easygoing 2002 best suited to near-term drinking. This is lot # L43PX103290Q. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016.

K&L Notes
This is a great example of a multi cru wine from the 2002 vintage. It is composed of about half Pinot Noir and half Chardonnay mainly from Mesnil, Cramant, Ambonnay, Bouzy, Tours-sur-Marne and Verzenay. This is a lemony, concentrated, focused, long LP that will reward keeping. It is also delicious now. If you have enjoyed the house style of LP in the past, don't miss this one, and if you need an introduction their is no better example.
