50% CS, 40% Merlot, 10% Malbec; Cedar, red currant, cassis, and cranberry, mouth-filling. (12/ 2010)
Dark red. Explosively aromatic nose combines redcurrant, cherry, licorice and flowers, complicated by tobacco and dried herbs. Juicy, vinous and penetrating, with noteworthy energy to the sharply delineated flavors of redcurrant, spices, pepper and fresh herbs. Showing its cabernet side today. Very classy, aromatic wine with no shortage of volume. Finishes with a firm tannic spine and excellent length. This can be enjoyed now or held. An outstanding value. (2/ 2011)
Opens with earthy, leafy aromas that can best be described as 'mature.' Throw in tobacco and baked plum, and the picture is complete. The palate is concentrated and tight, with sweet, herbal berry flavors and caramel on the finish. Rugged and herbal as a whole but with good qualities; 50% Cabernet with 40% Merlot and 10% Malbec.
