This is a pleasantly sweet bubbly. There’s a honeyed, sugary edge to the citrus, tropical fruit, spice, vanilla and toast flavors, and the bubbles are smooth and fine. The majority grape is Flora, a cross between Sémillon and Gewürztraminer. (12/ 2011)
Succulent yet crisp, with aromas of lemon sorbet and luscious flavors of peach, vanilla and cinnamon. Drink now. (12/ 2011)
A bubbly, off-dry dessert wine fom one of California's preeminent sparkling wine producers, Schramsberg. Based on a distinctive California varietal called Flora (67%), which is a cross between Sémillon and Gewürztraminer, this also has Chardonnay (18%) and straight Gewürztraminer (15%) blended in. The reult is a wonderfully tropical expression full of floral, mango and pineapple aromas that carry, along with a little tangerine, over to the palate. There's a tart rhubarb-like componsent on the palate too, wrapped in creme caramel and vanilla spice. Sweeter upfront, this bubby's residual sugar is balanced by mouthwatering acidity and a lively bead.
