Rich and extracted, this is tight and focused, at points supple yet firm, with boysenberry, wild berry and blueberry fruit that ends with a pleasing minerally edge. A true-to-form Lewis Syrah. Best from 2012 through 2022. (2/ 2012)
Randy and Debbie Lewis established their small family winery in Napa back in 1992, and since the beginning they've prided themselves on being hands-on in the winery, in the vineyard and in the sales. Their involvement has helped secure Lewis Cellars' wines as favorites here at K&L, and this Syrah does not disappoint. Dark berry fruits and coffee abound, with hints of crushed stone and laced with smoky spice. Firm tannins add depth and length to the finish. 125 cases produced.
