In half bottle! Champagne Tornay has the luxury of being selective. They own 50 acres of vineyard, and only keep enough wine to make 100,000 bottles a year total, exclusively from Grand and Premier Cru vineyards. Located in the Grand Cru of Bouzy on the Mountain of Reims, this house makes powerful Pinot Noir dominated wines as a rule. The Carte d'Or is composed of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay and is aged for an exceptionally long time. The base wine comes from 2005, but also includes 2004, 2003, 2002 and 2001. It has a Bollinger like scale to it, and fans of toasty, flavorful Champagne are bound to love it.
