Named a "new producer to look for" by the Wine Enthusiast, and noted as "one of our favorite consistent producers of afforable wines with lots of personality" by the Wine Spectator, Ancient Peaks Winery hits the mark with their range of wines, from Cab to Merlot to Sauvignon Blanc. Most of the fruit for this bottling comes from the Margarita Vineyard at the top of the Cuesta Grade, where the climate is much cooler than the rest of the Paso Robles appellation. Supplemented by fruit from the warmer San Juan Vineyard, the 2010 balances freshness and minerality with tropical fruit aromas and flavors. A good cocktail wine, this is also perfect for Sunday night's roasted chicken or mid-week fish tacos.
Below is a listing of the wine review scores we frequently reference in our notes. While these sources remain an excellent source of information, we always recommend that you trust your own palate. Scores in these publications often represent the personal taste of an individual critic, which may not always coincide with your own.
