A few years ago, Evesham Wood founder Russ Raney, sold the winery to the young Erin Nuccio, who had been working harvests with him for three years. Erin continues Russ's committment to quality in the vineyards and the bottle, and the 2010 Blanc de Puits Sec shows it. Produced entirely from the certified organic Le Puits Sec Vineyard, the wine is dominated by Pinot Gris, but lifted both aromatically and on the palate by Gewürztraminer (15%) and small amounts of Grüner, Kerner, Rieslaner, Pinot Blanc and Traminer. Not as spicy as previous vintages, this is a beautifully balanced, aromatic, dry white wine with wonderfully refreshing acidity. Try it with your favorite spicy dish.
