This is a winner! Slightly better is the 4,000 case 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa cuvee. It offers up complex aromas of tobacco leaf, graphite, damp earth, blackberries and black currants, full-bodied power and more density, depth and structure than the Cross Barn. Already drinkable, it should age effortlessly for two decades. (12/ 2010)
Firm, tight and compact, with a trim mix of dried currant, berry and red and black licorice. This unfolds gracefully, showing a mineral and sage edge, before firming on the finish. Drink now through 2019. (6/ 2011)
Youthful purple. Potent, expressive aromas of cassis and cherry pie, with an intense spicy overtone. Round but quite structured and assertive on the palate, offering sweet red and dark berry preserve flavors and a touch of bitter cherry. Silky tannins add shape to the very long, spicy, penetrating finish. Nicely structured without being at all hard. (6/ 2011)
