The Petit Frere, which means "little brother" in French, is a second wine of sorts, made from the Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre that didn't make it into either Unti's Grenache or Syrah bottlings. Vinified in the style of a Côte du Rhône, the Petit Freres is a bit brighter and softer than the winery's Grenache blend, a bit more fruit-forward and immediately approachable, but with that distinctive concentrated Dry Creek fruit. This would be delicious with rillettes or a duck confit and strawberry salad.
