According to the Wine Spectator: "Ripe, with good depth and richness to the dark plum, mocha and mineral flavors. There's plenty of vanilla and spice as well, with a plush finish. Drink now through 2014." (05/11) 100% Zweigelt, a St. Laurent-Blaufränkisch cross, this wine shows classic Zweigelt cherry fruit aromas with a raciness and spicy/savory complexity that makes it comparable to a young cool-climate Syrah. There's a pleasing cracked pepper element in the nose and a little gaminess on the palate, adding depth to the fruit and length to the finish. Highlighted as a top Austrian value by Terry Theise from the 2009 collection.
