2010 Adega Cooperativo Regional de Monção "Trajarinho" Vinho Verde

SKU #1069067

Back again is this delicious vinho verde: fizzy, ripe and juicy, while maintaining a refreshing dryness, warm weather white wine does not get much better than this! This is one of our favorites: crisp, citric, relatively low in alcohol and in a classically dry style. Don't let the deliciousness fool you, though; this white offers up a whole lot more complexity than the humble price might suggest. More than likely, one could attribute this amazing quality to two factors: First, the rock solid reputation and focus on quality of the Adega Cooperativo Regional de Monįao; and second, their reliance on Trajadura and Alvarinho grapes, which deliver wine of greater complexity and texture than the Paderņa grape so commonly grown in the rest of the Vinho Verde region.

Vinho Verde, translated from the Portugese as "green wine", is created to be consumed young, early and fresh. Lime zest, mineral, crisp acid and low alcohol make this a no-brainer for your spring and summer outdoor entertaining. Keep a few bottles at the ready, and you will delight your guests with this fun wine- and, at this price, not feel guilty about opening multiple bottles!

Such good quality wine that is both crisp and refreshing, but also very well made. There is such great depth to this wine that makes it a wonderful refreshment.

This rises above the sea of ordinary Vinho Verde due to the high percentage of Alvarinho which provides greater texture and complexity. This refreshing bargain is a hugh seller for us and very popular among the staff as well. A bit of trapped C02 livens up the entry of this ripe, low alcohol bargain which finishes dry and crisp.

The 2010 Trajarinho has everything you hope for in a good Vinho Verde - juicy lime and citrus aromas and flavors, mouthwatering acidity, delicate fizziness, and low alcohol. This is a drier style, and just so much fun to drink. Enjoy chilled with your favorite salty snacks, or dishes featuring fresh shellfish. It is even tasty with spicier dishes, too. A no-brainer for Pulpo a la Gallega (Galician octopus) or classic Peruvian ceviche spiced with yellow pepper.

I enjoyed not one but two bottles of this delicious Vinho Verde over the beautiful Memorial Day holiday. I think what makes this the perfect crisp white wine to enjoy while sitting poolside is the tremendous amounts of bright lime and numerous little tiny bubbles that fill your glass. This bottle has the perfect amount of effervescence that you want in a Vinho Verde!

This wine is an absolute steal! Slight fizz and ripe fruit make it ideal for summer sipping by the pool. Clean, crisp, low in alcohol and in a classically dry style.
