93 points from Robert Parker: "The 2008 Napanook (84% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot) may be one of the greatest Napanooks made. It is a deeper, richer, more intense wine with full body, an endearing texture and a long, pure finish. These two are 'take your pick' vintages, but wine enthusiasts would probably be remiss in not having both 2007 and 2008 in their cellars. (12/10) 91 points James Suckling: "A balanced and pretty wine with blueberry and minerals. Medium to full-bodied, with fine tannins and a delicious finish. Dried flowers, milk chocolate and spices. No need to wait for this; it's ready." (06/15) The 2008 Napanook from Dominus, which is essentially a second wine from a "First Growth" producer, can be had for just $49.99. For me, the 2008 is the best Napanook made to date. In past vintages I have found some green notes in this wine. Definitely not the 2008! This wine is rich and layered in the mouth, with hints of sweet mint, vanilla bean, cocoa powder, black cherry and red currant fruit. It is well balanced and long on the finish. This wine is drinking well now with some air, and I would not hesitate to serve it. (Trey Beffa, K&L)
