This starts up slowly and moves on with speed. Super fine tannins and a mineral and flower and spice. Full and silky. Second wine of Pichon. (4/ 2011)
A blend of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot, and the rest Petit Verdot, this wine, which hit 13.5% alcohol (the 2009 was 13%) displays loads of chocolatey, herbal, black currant fruit and mocha-infused notes in a dark plum/purple-tinged, fleshy style. Drink it over the next decade. (5/ 2011)
Vibrant and silky, this slides down almost too easily, with delicious red and black currant fruit laced with hints of anise, violet and black tea. A flicker of singed balsa wood keeps the finish going along. (3/ 2013)
