2010 Fonplégade, St-Emilion (Pre-Arrival)

SKU #1066861 92-94 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Now American-owned, Fonplegade has been pushing the envelop of high quality over recent vintages. The full-bodied, powerful 2010 reveals intense, concentrated red and black fruit characteristics, undeniable minerality, a perfumed style and authoritative flavors that linger on the palate. The tannins are noticeable, so this wine will benefit from 5-6 years of cellaring and keep for at least two decades. (5/ 2011)

90-91 points James Suckling

Focused and precise, with pretty dark fruits and hints of vanilla. Full and silky. Very attractive. (4/ 2011)

90 points Wine Spectator

Dark linzer torte and currant preserves notes are allied to a solid graphite spine and backed by a licorice-infused finish. Drink now through 2021. (3/ 2013)

Jancis Robinson

Very deep crimson - rather lustrous and healthy looking. Very sweet start - very slightly raw purple berries sensation but certainly very vital and attention grabbing without excessively dry tannins on the end. (4/ 2011)

*½V This was our first visit to this beautiful property, which sits below Canon on the hill. 2,000 cases. Pure fruit with mineral undertones. Could be a sleeper.

Plummy aromas and dense fruit. One for the cellar.

This shows fragrant floral, spice and bright red fruit on the nose. The bright acidity is dominate on the finish with a lifted red-fruit aromatic. Ripe, rich fruit balances the slight astringency
