The greatly improved Beaumont, under the same ownership as Château Beychevelle in Saint-Julien, has produced a full-bodied, rich wine, which is weighty and packed with serious fruits and tannins. It shows an attractive, black-currant-driven side, but it remains a wine for aging. (2/ 2013)
Distinctive autumnal notes on the nose. Fresh and vital and relatively lightweight but very serious. Round and polished on the palate. Full of appeal and with just a bit of leafiness to stop it being sickly. Lots of pure pleasure and confident attack here. Appetising. Sinewy. (4/ 2011)
This large estate has produced a blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 46% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot offering up notes of roasted herbs and licorice, red and black currants. Medium-bodied, relatively lush and fruity in style, it can be drunk over the next 5-6 years. (2/ 2013)
Shows a rustic edge, with chestnut and tobacco leaf notes leading the way for brambly textured currant and blackberry fruit flavors. A fresh bay leaf note hangs on the medium-weight finish. Drink now through 2016. (3/ 2013)
